At the end of March, in his native Aosta Valley, Federico “Chicco” Pellegrino ended his cross-country skiing career, entering a less daunting future: other challenges—as a father, an economics student, and an entrepreneur—await him.
In conversation with Paolo Cornero, director of Idea magazine, Pellegrino will retrace sixteen years at the highest level in which he won two Olympic silvers and two bronzes, one of which was won on February 15th in Tesero in the 4 x 7.5 km relay with Martino Carollo from Borgaro, seven world medals, 18 individual victories in the World Cup and two sprint World Cups, and he has earned widespread respect, as demonstrated by his appointment as flag bearer at the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics and the participation of around 50 Olympic medals in the Grand Finale in Saint-Barthélemy.
