The documentary explores the imposing defensive system that crisscrosses the slopes of the Maritime Alps. Here, the structures of the Alpine Wall in Italy and the Maginot Line in France emerge as silent presences: no longer barriers, but witnesses to a shared European history.
Through evocative images and the voices of experts, the video leads the viewer to discover these often difficult to access and little-known places, revealing their secrets and hidden charm.
The documentary, edited by the Alpi Marittime Protected Areas Management Agency as part of the Interreg-ALCOTRA “Cognitio-Fort” project, transforms a fragile legacy into a cultural resource accessible to all, updating the meaning of borders: from a line of separation to a place of memory and encounter.
