Stories of wandering skiers

Two lives on skis, searching for the perfect turn. On long traverses or in the thin air of 7,000- and 8,000-meter peaks for Giorgio Daidola, while Igor Napoli sought the adrenaline rush of steep slopes. Both skied with a vagabond spirit, far removed from the standardized style of artificial snow slopes. The two, who have known each other their entire lives, have chronicled their nomadic skiing in several books—"Voglia di ripido" and "Zen, Frisbee e sport estremi," among Napoli's, "Ski spirit" and "Sciatori di montagna," written by Giorgio—and for 17 years they were featured in the "Dimensione Sci" yearbook of Rivista della montagna.

In 2025, in "No Fall Lines" (Mulatero Editore), Daidola reviewed the history of steep skiing, from the pioneers of the early twentieth century to the great exponents of today. Daidola and Napoli will recount their emotions on the white snow through images and films of their lives as wandering skiers, alternating between the roles of interviewer and interviewee.
