The mountain outside and inside the museum

May 17 - 3:30 PM Casa Galimberti Museum (Open map)

At 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm, the Casa Galimberti Museum offers a thematic guided tour with the aim of illustrating the mountain as an identifying element of the Cuneo area, conceived not as a barrier but as a bridge, a place of encounter and exchange: a mountain that "crosses borders," capable of uniting landscapes, histories, and communities.

The tour will begin with the history of Piazza Galimberti, a symbolic space in the city designed in the 19th century to offer residents a wide view of the Maritime Alps, which still define the urban skyline today. From here, the visit will continue inside the museum, where the mountain will be presented as a theater of the partisan struggle. Special attention will be paid to the figure of Duccio Galimberti and the speech he gave on July 26, 1943, a crucial moment in the history of the Resistance and the path to liberation of the region.

The tour will conclude with a look at the mountains as a source of artistic inspiration, through several works preserved in the museum's art gallery. Participants will have the opportunity to admire the works of Lorenzo Delleani, Giuseppe Sacheri, and Matteo Olivero, artists who have interpreted the Alpine landscape with different sensibilities and languages.

Participation is free, subject to availability. Reservations are required at prenotazioni.galimberti@comune.cuneo.it.
