When art investigates the human-nature connection: the Materia Madre project

“Materia Madre” is the Sideralis aps project that investigates the human-nature connection through artistic languages.

On the one hand, the film "Darkness Matters" by director Costanza Julia Bani explores the essence of darkness through an immersive full-dome experience, drawing attention to the concept that the night is not something empty, or to be feared, but a living and vulnerable ecosystem. On the other, the photographic journey curated by Cortona On The Move recounts the physical and emotional "cages" experienced every day at the CRAS in Bernezzo.

The project debuts at the Cuneo Montagna Festival with the film's Italian premiere, followed by a traveling exhibition starting in September 2026. The presentation of "Materia Madre" will be followed by the first screening of the film "Darkness Matters"; the event is by invitation only.
