From May 14th to 17th, the Cuneo Montagna Festival invites you to reflect on "border crossings"

The fourth edition of the Cuneo Montagna Festival will take place from May 14 to 17, 2026, and will have as its common theme "crossing borders," an invitation to step out of your comfort zone and explore the highlands beyond prejudice and stereotypes. Guest of honor will be Federico "Chicco" Pellegrino, a cross-country skiing champion and Italian flag bearer at the Milan-Cortina Olympics, where he won two bronze medals. He is expected on Friday, May 15, at 9:00 pm at the Monviso Cinema. Other announced guests include writer Davide Longo, who will hold a writing workshop on the weekend of May 9 and 10; writer, university professor, and ski traveler Giorgio Daidola ; and photographer Valerio Minato.

Organized by the Municipality of Cuneo, the Cuneo Montagna Festival will once again enliven Via Roma on May 16th and 17th with the Alpine Village, a space to learn about, listen to, and experience the mountains. It will also bring Occitan music to the historic center. On Saturday, May 16th, Lou Dalfin , along with a series of guests. The talks will be broadcast throughout the city. From Friday, March 13th to Sunday, March 15th, the Cuneo Montagna Festival will be present at the Terres Monviso Outdoor Festival at the Quartiere (Piazza Montebello, 1 – former Musso barracks) in Saluzzo.

The full 2026 CNMF program will be revealed on Saturday, April 18, at 4 p.m. at Open Baladin (Piazza Foro Boario) during a meeting, organized in collaboration with scrittorincittà, with British anthropologist, writer, and runner Michael Crawley, who will present his book "Up to the Limit: The Meaning of Resistance from Mexico to the Himalayas" (add editore), a finalist for the 2025 Sunday Times Sports Book Awards.

Two Olympic silvers and two bronzes, one of which he won on February 15th in Tesero in the 4 x 7.5 km relay with Martino Carollo from Borgaro, seven world championship medals, 17 World Cup victories, and two sprint World Cups. This is the list of achievements of Federico "Chicco" Pellegrino, the most successful Italian cross-country skier of recent decades, who will conclude his extraordinary career at the end of March in the "Grand Finale" in Saint-Barthélemy, in his native Aosta Valley.

Davide Longo was born in Carmagnola in 1971 and lives in Turin. He is a writer, screenwriter, documentary director, and author of plays and radio plays. His novels include "A Morning in Irgalem," "The Stone Eater," and "The Vertical Man." He has written for Corriere della Sera, Repubblica, Il Manifesto, Avvenire, and La Stampa. He teaches writing at the Scuola Holden in Turin, and his books have been translated into numerous languages.

A skier, or rather telemark skier, writer, university professor, and ski traveler, Giorgio Daidola, born in Turin in 1943, coordinated the Dimensione Sci yearbook of Rivista della Montagna for 17 years, along with Leonardo Bizzaro and Andrea Gobetti. He is also the author of numerous ski books, including "Ski Spirit," and numerous publications on his other great passion, offshore sailing. He has interviewed nearly all the great extreme skiers of the 1970s and 1980s.

Born in Biella and living in Turin, Valerio Minato began his exploration of photography as a hobby in 2012, while completing his degree in Forestry and Environmental Sciences at the University of Turin. His research is grounded in his passion for cartography and meteorology. Many of his works and projects have been published in online publications and national newspapers. In 2023, "Cathedral, Mountain, Moon," his shot of the triple alignment of Superga, Monviso, and the Moon, was awarded NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day on Christmas Day.
